One Watch, Five Different Looks

How a single watch becomes a wardrobe with five well-chosen straps.

One Watch, Five Different Looks

If you only own one watch, you do not need more watches. You need more straps. Here is a five-strap rotation that lets a single tool watch dress itself for almost any room.

1. Black classic leather - the suit

Tapered, tonal stitching, slim profile. Sits under a cuff without a fight. The strap you reach for when the dress code says "smart".

2. Brown oil-waxed crazy horse - the office

Vintage tan or chocolate. Smart enough for the meeting, soft enough for the train home. The most useful strap most collectors own.

3. Black nato - the weekend

Two-piece fabric, polished hardware. Pair with a tee, jeans and trainers. Survives a coffee spill without flinching.

4. Suede or canvas - the holiday

Italian suede in caramel or vintage tan reads as continental in the sun. Avoid getting it wet and it will keep its personality for years.

5. Exotic - the date night

Ostrich, crocodile, or a deeply-coloured Shell Cordovan. Save it for the nights you want the watch to do the talking.
